School Closing and Delays
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. As such, inclement weather or an unplanned community event such as a power outage, water main break, etc., may necessitate the district to close schools, delay the start of school and/or dismiss students early. Information on closings, delays or early dismissals will be posted to the district’s website, social media pages (Facebook and Twitter), and automatic calls are placed to parents.
Additionally, the district will also make use of local media outlets to announce schedule changes due to inclement weather or some other community event. If the delay or closing can be determined the evening before, all attempts will be made to contact the media at that time.
